BBT 9 Assignment #2

World Wide Web in Plain English

  • Web is connected due to a multiple of servers (special computers)
  • Web addresses connect people to the servers they come from, enabling them to access information from around the world.
  • Codes composed of the binary number system, compose the images, video, and text that we see when viewing web pages.


Cloud Computing- How it all works

  • Computer data which is uploaded to the internet is stored in the “cloud”, or in data centers, stored in computer towers. 
  • Pictures or information may be at multiple places across the globe all at once, specifically based upon the fact, where the information is being stored, or in which server. 
  • Web companies such as Google or Microsoft keep our information which is in the cloud, safe. 


  Web 2.0 Explained

  • HTML was once used to create websites, as it differed “elements” such as paragraphs and italics. 
  • XML was designed to enable websites and their addresses to be able to tell the difference between form and content of a website. 
  • XML allows different websites to combine information.
